Kitchen Aid in the Park

Sep 30, 2022 | Projects

Five years after the Pavilion kitchen was refurbished after a stint of fundraising by the Friends of Heaton Moor Park, the kitchen counter needed attention.

Due to dampness and the odd spilled drink, the gap between two sections of countertop had been separating until the countertop surface was starting to buckle upwards.

To the rescue came the Heatons Men in Sheds, with materials generously funded by Pebble in the Pond Vintage teas, who had put on a fabulous tea in the Pavilion during the Heatons SummerFest in July 2022.

Two members of the Men in Sheds, John Hignett (Higgy) and Terry Hewitt injected some silicone to fill the gap and installed a ‘Kitchen Worktop Straight Running Joint’ – there’s a new DIY term! And the counter has a whole new life.

Many thanks to the Men in Sheds and Pebble in the Pond.

Since the Friends will be providing Spooky Treats at the Halloween in the Park event on 29th October 2022, the repair is especially appreciated!
