The wildflower area around two sides of the tennis court now sports an array of bee boxes. These bee boxes will help attract pollinators. They will also serve to protect the metre-wide wildflower area from accidentally being mowed.
Although the Friends of Heaton Moor Park organised the project, we are very grateful to the following for helping to make it all happen:
- Stockport Catalyst Climate Action Now (CAN) Fund, who provided a grant in support of the bee boxes.
- Heatons Men in Sheds who took on the job of constructing the boxes and cutting some points into the ends of the supporting poles.
- Stockport Council Green Space Team (West) who ably installed the boxes.
